The Angel City Football Club (ACFC), Los Angeles’ newest professional soccer team, announced the debut of the ‘ACFC Inaugural Fan Pass Collection’ – an NFT drop – at crypto.com today.

The drop will take place from 8 a.m. PST on April 29th to 9 p.m. PST on May 5th to honor ACFC’s inaugural match.

“We designed this NFT collection to honor the start of our first season and to use our platform to introduce as many ACFC fans as possible to the exciting world of Web3, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs,” said Julie Uhrman, Angel City Football Club’s co-founder and president.
“We feel that ownership is a basic concept of Web3 and why NFTs are so strong,” she stated. When we win the NFTs, our fans will own a piece of the team’s history and will be able to join us on our adventure. This is just the start!”

ACFC will make its debut in Spring 2022 at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles as the 11th member of the National Women’s Soccer League.

Where can you receive your ACFC NFTs?

The first two NFTs from the collection will be given away by Crypto.com, one of ACFC’s founding partners, to people who sign up for their NFT marketplace.

A ‘Kickoff NFT’ – a digital, stylized ACFC soccer ball with the ACFC emblem floating within – and a ‘Sol Rosa Kickoff NFTs’ – the same design washed over with ACFC’s characteristic Sol Rosa color – are the two NFTs on offer.

The ‘Kickoff NFT’ will be available in an infinite quantity, but the ‘Sol Rosa Kickoff NFT’ will be limited to only 22 copies, which will be distributed to 22 lucky fans.

After the NFTs have been redeemed, the team will contact them directly to share access to special digital items as well as invitations to virtual and real-life events throughout the season.

“We are ecstatic to be a part of the inaugural season of the ACFC,” stated Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer of Crypto.com.
“Our relationship with ACFC is built on providing fans with more options to support and participate with their favorite team, and we look forward to expanding on this project.”

The number 22 is crucial for the new club, which was founded in the year 2022 and has a capacity of 22,000 at its stadium.

In addition, the ACFC has a ‘Player 22 Future Program,’ which provides funding to retiring NWSL players who are pursuing new sports professions.

The revenues from the NFT drop will be donated to the Player 22 Fund by ACFC.

ACFC was formed by Natalie Portman, an Academy Award-winning actress and activist, Kara Nortman, a technology venture financier, Julie Uhrman, a media and gaming entrepreneur, and Alexis Ohanian, the founder of Seven Seven Six and former Executive Chair of Reddit.

Eniola Aluko, a former England Women’s National Team forward, serves as the team’s Sporting Director, while Freya Coombe serves as the team’s Head Coach.
