Ember Sword released a pre-alpha leak in the form of a video that showed exciting gameplay and some WIP (Work in Progress) content. This was a way to let the community know what was going on behind the scenes and get them excited again. This leak could mean that a Beta is coming sooner than ever.
Ember Sword has been in development for a long time. From the beginning, the team grew and kept a healthy, helpful community. Even though the game isn’t done yet and it’s crypto winter, most of this community is still here. In our last article about Ember Sword, we talked about a playable demo that showed everyone what this web3 RPG will be like. But this new footage from inside the game looks a lot better than their last demo.
We can see a big difference between the demo and this video. We can finally see how characters fight, how they jump to avoid enemy attacks, and how some of the city’s buildings look.
For a “browser game,” I think the way it’s played looks pretty addicting. Add to that the fact that it will eventually be available on mobile devices, and you have a recipe for a large audience. Even though the game is still in its early stages of development, dozens of organized guilds are already ready to get a head start in Ember Sword. That shows how big and enthusiastic the community is.
What is an Ember Sword
Ember Sword is a web3 role-playing game (RPG) on the ImmutableX ecosystem. The graphics are simple and cartoony, and the game will have everything players expect from an ARPG:
- Quests
- Nations
- PvP
- PvE
- Guilds
- Crafting
- Professions
- Gear
- Roleplay
- Trading
It puts a lot of focus on Nations. Most of the time, in ARPGs and MMORPGs, nations only affect PvP activities. But in Ember Sword, it’s not that simple. Nations affect where players start, and each area has a certain type of activity that goes with it. For example, some areas are for PvP activities, others have world bosses, and still others are for questing and trading. When choosing a Nation, players should think about what kinds of activities they want to do. There will also, of course, be PvP battles between different Nations. At first, you’ll only be able to get Solarwood.
There are four Nations to choose from:
- Sevrend
- Solarwoord
- Duskeron
- Ediseau
Then, it’s a Web3 game with NFTs and will have a crypto token in the future. It will always be free-to-play, and NFTs will come in the form of cosmetics, land plots, and badges. When players fight monsters, these skin NFTs may drop, which they can then sell on the ImmutableX marketplace.
When it comes to Land Plots, they will be used to get tokens as passive income and to build infrastructure like guild houses and shops. In 2021, these were all gone. Badges were also sold out in 2021, and people who have them will get early access and tokens.
