MetalCore is hosting a new playtest this week, featuring a highly-anticipated addition – PvE zones! In addition to this exciting feature, they are also holding a special treasure hunt event where participants can win an Elite Swag Pack, filled with MetalCore merchandise and even a Ledger Nano S!

This phase of MetalCore, called Open World Alpha 2, has been hosting playtests for several months now, and this latest one introduces players to the brand new PvE zones. Players can venture out solo or in groups of up to 10 players, and combat with other players is strictly forbidden in these zones.

The playtest runs from May 1st at 9 pm EST until May 8th at 3 pm EST, and anyone can participate in the alpha for free by obtaining a key to download the game through the Alpha Waitlist form. MetalCore is now available through Epic Games, a popular platform for managing and delivering web3 games.

For this stage of the alpha, all players have access to the same selection of equipment and vehicles.

During the playtest, MetalCore has also hidden a special artifact somewhere on the map. The first player to find it will win an Elite Swag Pack that includes MetalCore merchandise and a Ledger Nano S. To claim the prize, the player must take a screenshot of the artifact in-game, open a ticket on the MetalCore Discord, and register for the event beforehand. The first 100 players to find and report the artifact will receive an official MetalCore Sticker Pack, which also includes bonus stickers from Immutable.

For those who are not familiar, MetalCore is a web3-enabled game that is a blend of Planetside and Battlefield. It is a sci-fi-themed FPS with a wide range of vehicles, infantry types, and loadouts, and features instanced, large-scale faction combat. Battles can support up to 100 players per side, and coordination with teammates and factions is essential.

In Faction battles, players try to control various tactical points around the map and destroy the enemy base. Tactical points provide in-game advantages for the controlling faction, and each player has a limited number of respawns per battle. MetalCore also includes both PvE and PvP zones, and players earn FAB tokens while playing, which can be used for crafting and upgrades.

Players can craft vehicles in Garages and upgrade and customize them with special skins and decals. Additionally, MetalCore will support Baronies or guilds, and they are implementing a Content Creator’s program with rewards for streamers and video creators.
